A Vampire Scorned

This is a Traditional Entry , Beginner Manipulation for the Lisajen stock (proper link below) contest "Urban Legends". It is based on Vlad "The Impaler" Tepes of Romania. Better known as .. Dracula !

I have written a poem for this photo, too. Poem follows .

I had this idea because I love natural mysteries and stories and Romania has to be one of the most awesome countries for mysterious stuff ! This photo comes from a real-life experience that Vlad had before the armies of his enemies came to take him away to an unknown fate.

His wife saw it was the beginning of the end .. so she silently climbed to the topmost tower of their castle and with the final words..."I would rather have my body rot and be eaten by the fish of the Arges River then to be led to captivity of the Turks!" She jumped into the river below and died.

Vlad never recovered after that and rumors flew that he would have rituals in the night and drink blood and eat the flesh of babies. (All rumors but it made for a good tale !)

So .. I call this piece "A Vampire Scorned".

Poem:

A Vampire Scorned

Some say vampires have no heart
Their soul's are black as the night
Some say vampires feel no love
They only lust for the bite.

Once I was the lover of a mortal
Her blood ran cold as ice
Once she was the Keeper of my tomb
Unlocked my coffin at night.

But her love soon faded for me
And she went to another's arms
I was scorned and bleeding inside
But such is the un-life of a Vampire !
